Eligibility: 19 or younger through the year of their high school graduation in 2021, and the player is a legal resident of Ohio or a verified member of a 2021 WOSGA member club​

Who Can Play:

  • Female amateur golfer, and

  • The player is19 years of age or younger in 2021 being eligible only through the year of their high school graduation, and 

  • The player has a GHIN Handicap Index, handicap or average 18-hole score, and  

  • The player is a legal resident of Ohio, or

  • The player is a verified member of a 2021 WOSGA member club

​​Public links players and members of non-WOSGA Ohio private clubs are invited to play but to be eligible, the player must be an Ohio resident.

 

Entry Fee: $125.00

Entry fee includes practice round greens fee, driving range balls, prizes and picnic lunch on Monday.

Conditions of Competition

Tournament Policies

No Carts or Caddies during tournament rounds; players must walk

Spectator/Parents: During a stipulated round, spectators and/or parents are not permitted to converse with or give advice to contestants, must keep a distance of at least one-half (1/2) a hole ahead from any contestant they are following, and may not talk with a contestant until after their scorecard is signed and attested, except in the case of an emergency. Parents/spectators shall not help with rulings. The penalty for breach of Condition: 2-strokes per occurrence.

Leila Raines of Galena shot back to back rounds of 70 to win the 2020 Ohio Junior Girls at 4 under par. 

Gianna Clemente of Warren finished second with a two-round total of 142, two under par.

Leila Raines is thrilled to win her second WOSGA Ohio Girls Junior Championship.  

She was unable to participate in the 2019 OGJ, but won the event in 2018 and again this year in 2020. Lelia is one of only a few players to win the event twice. She joins Shirley Trier (Vaughn) of Akron (1986-87), Amy Langhais of Columbus Grove (1991-92), Jessica Belskis of Columbus (1994-95), and Kelsey Lindenschmidt of West Chester (2004-05) as the only two-time winners of the Ohio Junior Girls.

 

Leila is a 2020 graduate of Olentangy Berlin High School, where she played on the Boys Varsity Golf Team during her junior and senior year, earning medalist seven times competing against boys and playing from the men’s championship tees.  Leila will be continuing her golf career at Michigan State University.  A few of Leila’s career highlights include qualifying for the 2017 USGA Women’s Amateur; traveling to Augusta National as a national finalist for the 2017 National Drive, Chip & Putt Finals; having one AJGA win and eleven Top 10 AJGA finishes, including five Top 5 AJGA finishes; and being named Central Ohio Player of the Year twice.
