About Janie (Dumler) Klare:
Janie played 4 years of high school golf on the boy's team at Summit Country Day in Cincinnati, and she played golf in college at Purdue University and later, on the men’s team at Xavier University.
For the past ten years, Janie has been working at MegaCorp Logistics, a national freight logistics company, as Business Development Manager/National Sales while raising 3 daughters; Abigail (21) Alexandra (20) and Lauren (18) with her husband Bob Klare. Klare's summers for the past nine years have been dedicated to attending AAU National Basketball tournaments with Lauren and select Soccer tournaments with Alex across the US. All three girls are now in college and Janie said "it feels great to be back into competition.”
Janie has enjoyed the game of golf since the age of 8. She has won a couple Cincinnati Metropolitan Championships and participated in the North South Amateur, several USGA Mid Am’s, and qualified for the USGA 4 Ball with Lynn Thompson at Bandon Dunes.
Janie won the Ohio Junior Girls (1984), the Women's Ohio State Amateur (1996), and now the Women's Ohio State Mid-Amateur, making her the first player in WOSGA history to win three different tournament titles.
Last summer Klare was inducted into the Cincinnati Legends of Golf which she considers a huge honor since she is among some amazing and talented golfers.
Janie has served on the Greater Cincinnati Women’s Golf Association in many capacities over the years, and previously was the Tournament Chairman of the Men’s World Cup of Golf, now part of the World Tours. Klare enjoys giving back to the game that has brought so much joy to her over the years with amazing experiences, friendships, competition, and greater joy for the game.
Klare looks forward to being able to play more competitive golf now that her girls are older and hopes to rekindle many friendships from her past by attending tournaments on a national level.
